Mục tiêu:
- Học sinh nắm vững các khái niệm, kiến thức cơ bản về môn toán học để chuẩn bị bước vào chương trình của cấp 2.
- Học sinh phát triển kĩ năng tư duy số học và hình học, tư duy logic...
Yêu cầu hoàn thành khóa học:
- Chương trình học gồm 10 nội dung học, và một bài kiểm tra cuối kỳ
- Trong toàn bộ chương trình học, học sinh sẽ phải làm đủ bài giao về nhà bao gồm học online (đối với IXL hoàn thành các bài tập với số điểm từ >90), bài tập worksheet, hoàn thành bài kiểm tra cuối kỳ.
Tiêu chuẩn đánh giá mức độ hoàn thành:
- Học sinh hoàn thành tối thiểu 70% lượng bài tập về nhà.
- Học sinh hoàn thành bài kiểm tra cuối kỳ với kết quả từ 70% trở lên.
Lịch trình khóa học:
- Chapter 1: Understand and remember definitions of: prime numbers.Definition of powers and exponents. Instruct students on writing prime factorization. The order of operations and let them do some exercises. Definitions of variables and functions
- Chapter 2: What and how to use line graphs, bar graphs, line plots and histograms.Definitions of mean, median, mode and range.Integers and Graphing
- Chapter 3: Representing decimals on a number line. Comparing and ordering whole numbers and decimals. Rounding whole numbers and decimals. Estimating sums and differences of decimals; add and subtract decimals.
- Chapter 4:  Finding the greatest common factor and the least common multiple of two or more numbers. Expressing fractions in simplest form. How to write mixed numbers as improper fractions and vice versa. Comparing fractions. Write decimals as fractions or mixed numbers in the simplest form; write fractions as decimals. Using ordered pairs to locate points and organize data.
- Chapter 5: Rounding fractions and mixed numbers; Adding and subtracting mixed numbers.
Estimating sums and differences of fractions and mixed numbers. Adding and subtracting fractions with like and unlike denominators. Subtracting mixed numbers involving renaming.
- Chapter 6: Estimating and finding the product of decimals and whole numbers. Multiplying decimals by decimals. Dividing decimals by whole numbers and decimals. Multiplying fractions and mixed and applying these procedures to solving problems. Dividing fractions and mixed numbers and applying these procedures to solving problems.
- Chapter 7: Comparing and ordering integers; Adding and subtracting integers; Multiplying and dividing integers. Location and graphing ordered pairs on a coordinate plane. Solving and writing addition and subtraction equations. Solving multiplication equations.
- Chapter 8: Expressing ratios and rates in fraction form. Using ratio tables to represent and solve problems involving equivalent ratios. Determining if two quantities are equivalent. Solving equations using equivalent fractions. Extending and describing arithmetic sequences using algebraic expressions. Writing an equation to describe a linear situation.
- Chapter 9: Expressing percents as fractions and fractions as percents. Sketching and analyzing circle graphs. Expressing percents as decimals and decimals as percents. Estimating the percent of a number; Finfing the percent of a number. Finding and interpreting the probability of a simple event.
Constructing sample spaces using tree diagrams or lists. Predicting the actions of a larger group using a sample.
- Chapter 10: Measuring and classifying angles. Identifying and measuring parallel and perpendicular lines. Classifying triangles and finding missing angle measures in triangles. Classifying quadrilaterals and finding missing angle measures in quadrilaterals. Finding the perimeters of squares and rectangles. Finding the area of parallelograms and triangles. Finding the volume and surface areas of rectangular prisms.
Final exam.
